Thank you, thank you, thank you!

Hey Folks!!

Welcome to the new site!! I’m so excited to have a whole new feel for things with the new site, the new album “Painting With Tides” coming out on the 28th, and the 2 month tour across Canada and into the States coming up in October, November, and December.  I can’t wait to see everyone! Please check the dates when I’m coming near you and keep checking back.  There are more to come.  All of you who preordered, I’m signing and sending you your albums as I type! I am really good at multitasking.  Keep checking your mailboxes!

On a related note, I would like to send my deepest apologies to the 3 people who preordered that I somehow missed putting in the album credits! Elissa Gollan, Rachel McNalley, and Ben Stephenson.  I am so sorry I missed this and so grateful to you for preordering. I’ll drop you a note in the next few days to let you know how I’m gonna make it up to you!

What a year it has been…what a couple years it’s been!  When I look back to all the experiences I’ve had and all the lessons I’ve learned it’s exhausting, so the best thing for me to do is just look forward and keep writing. I’ve been waiting since March to let you all hear “Painting With Tides”.  It’s hard  when you first hear your album in February and are so pumped you want to jump out the window of your car and run screaming “listen to this!”, and then everyone else hears it eight months down the road.  One day, I would like to find a way to coincide my excitement with yours! It would be nice if we could all jump out the window of our cars and run screaming “listen to this” together! Anyways…I’ll keep working on that.

I’ve learned a lot from “Painting With Tides”, too much to list.  I’ve never been more proud of myself though, and I’m happy to say that.  This is an album I love, an album that has taken me through ups and downs, and an album that made me stronger.  It reflects my goals, my attitudes, my loves, my mistakes, my losses, my friendships, and my family.  And all of these things I know you can relate to.  I look forward to hearing stories from you about the album, when you listen to it, and how you relate to it…those emails mean the most me.

Most importantly, above all else, is the fact that I would not have this record in my hands or even recorded or even written, if it weren’t for all the people around me that helped.  First off, I am beyond grateful for my extremely supportive family.  My Mom, my Dad, my sisters, Krista and Rochelle, Don and his kids, Connie, Troy, Brian, Marin, and Grady.  All of my extended family, cousins, aunts, uncles, that continuely support me.  Warren, my love and support who deals with living with a crazy rollercoaster of a musician everyday.  All of his family, Carol Anne, Peter, John, Malcolm, Joanne, Troy, Reid, Hanna, Charlotte, and so many more.  Adam Lomas, my partner in crime, the manager that makes it happen, the craziest multitasker I’ve ever seen, the man that believed from the start at the Alcove.  All of my friends, Carmel, Danielle, Ashley, Mary, Emm, Eileen, all of you for your support.  The unreal musicians who played on the record.  There are a lot of them. Carmel Mikol, David Bradshaw, Rosie MacKenzie, Geoff Arsenault, Brian Bourne, Geoff Hilhorst, Thom Swift, Joel Plaskett, Old Man Luedecke, Mark Currie, Phil Sedore, Kev Corbett, Dale Murray, Adam Baldwin, Brian Murray.  You are unreal people and players.  Charles Austin, the man who made the record.  Thanks for making recording fun and for making it like I always pictured it.  Graeme Campbell, you have one unreal mixing ear.  J. LaPointe for mastering. Everyone at GroundSwell Music, Ian MacKinnon, Heather Frantsi, The Stanfields, Thom Swift.  Your support and belief in me means the world to me.  Jane Harbury for taking on “Painting” for publicity.  Scope Digital Media for doing all of my video through this recording process and for all of my live shows.  To have these things captured means the world to me.  Kurt Firla, the man who can make me cry with his design skills.  You have one amazing gift.  Scott Blackburn for “Painting” photos.  ALL of the unreal organizations that support me over and over again: Music Nova Scotia, East Coast Music Association, FACTOR, Nova Scotia Tourism, Culture, and Heritage, CBC, SOCAN.  And at last, to ALL of you wonderful people who preordered and directly helped fund the recording.  Thank you for believing in me and trusting me.  Your support will never be forgotten.

What a long list of amazing, supportive, unreal people.  Thank you everyone! Enjoy the new site and the new record and I hope to see you soon.

Much love,

Kim
